Are You a Good Lover?

Listen Up!

There are a few lines in Deuteronomy (the fifth book of the Bible–it’s a long one) that are probably the most important words of all for the Jewish people. They say or sing them twice a day, thousands of years later. How did that happen? What do those few sentences say that makes them so meaningful? Why did Jesus quote them and, of course, add his own take? If Jesus says they’re the most important words, maybe we really should “listen up.”

God asks us to love him with all our heart, soul, and strength. But what does that look like at work, at home, in school, or in the neighborhood? How do I even love a God I can’t see–and sometimes don’t feel? Listen up! He’s got this.

This week:  Love God. How does that work? What does it look like? How do we know when we’ve got it?
