There are a few lines in Deuteronomy (the fifth book of the Bible–it’s a long one) that are probably the most important words of all for the Jewish people. They say or sing them twice a day, thousands of years later. How did that happen? What do those few sentences say that makes them so meaningful? Why did Jesus quote them and, of course, add his own take? If Jesus says they’re the most important words, maybe we really should “listen up.”
This week: One of the most important words in the Bible is “Listen.” We think we’re pretty good at listening, right? But do we really hear? What does it mean to listen? Do you feel listened to? We’re going to work together to discover a little bit more about what this word means and how to use it well.
